Article of Faith Posters

Welcome to
Sundae Served Saturdays.
Where "Saturday is a special day. It's the day we get ready for Suuuuuunday!"

As part of our school at home this year I am using the Articles of Faith for copy work.  They copy them down to improve handwriting and... it backs up principles we would like to reenforce in our home.  I have see the Articles of Faith posted on most primary walls.  Thought I would share my posters!  Just click the links below each picture to download the size you would like.
These are 8 x11.  I wanted mine big!
I figured smaller sizes would be good for someone!
CLICK HERE to download these 4 to a page!
And yet smaller still with 6 to a page!
These would be good for clipping to a ring for easy memorization on the go!

Printable Book of Mormon Charts

Welcome to
Sundae Served Saturday!
Where "Saturday is a special day. It's the day we get ready for Sunday!"

My mommy was recently made Young Women's President!  Yeah mommy.  She was totally stressed and so I lovingly told her.  "That is the best one because all you have to do is delegate!"  She calls me the next night and says,  "I need some printable Book of Mormon Charts for my girls to color... for tomorrow!"  LOL  That came back to bite me!
Anyways, thought I would share!  The are all 8x11!  The links to download are below each picture AND at the end of the post.

This was their favorite!  Mine too...
This specific chart came when my mom had printed off a ton and my daddy saw them.  He said, "Awe.  Why doesn't she make one for me!"  So I did!  I wasn't sure he would want to decorate it himself so I made this one in color.  He just started raising some chickens and is obsessed.  Just print in black and white if you want to decorate it yourself!  It's is pretty cute!

Here is a list of all of them right in a row so you don't have to scroll through each one.  These could work for anyone!  Maybe...  frame one and use a dry erase marker?  Then you can use the same one over and over again!

Visiting Teachers Calling Cards

This is one for my fellow LDS friends.  Every month the women in our church (if they want) go out and visit a certain few other women!  Just our way of checking in of each other.  The presidency of the women's group, The Relief Society, in our individual wards decides who we will visit.  Who you visit depends on alot...  where you live, age, but most of all prayer.  Really the idea is to uplift each other with awesome girly companionship.

Every month there is a message we are asked to share with those we visit.  Last month it was on actually on what a visiting teach should do for those she visits!  You know how when you plan a lesson you always learn more than those to whom you are teaching?  I know I learned a ton in this one!  I have never been the best at getting out every month.

So...  As inspiration and in hopes that those I visit will want to contact me more if they need me, I created these little cards!

FIRST  I usually print out a handout someone else has created.  SpirituallyThinking always has a great collection!  This month I downloaded #20 on her list.  But then I created a little something for them just from me!
Next I made these!  Visiting Teaching calling cards!  They just happen to match the theme this month.  I figured it was a small way for me to be a little more accessible for the ladies!

The little ones on the left are business card size and underneath the fancy paper towel phone number cover ups... is my name and phone number!  The bigger ones are the same.  After laminating both I stuck a magnet on the bigger ones so my number is EVERYWHERE!!!  lol

Anyways... to download your own blank ones just click the links below!

Teaching Sites

Being in a Primary Presidency has made me become extremely thankful for the talents that others are willing to share!  (Yours included!)  I thought I would share some sites and tips that have helped me through my calling!  The following is a worksheet I created for the teachers in our primary.  The hopes was that they would find other was to creatively teach their classes.  This list does have more for primary than any, but most of the other sites listed are awesome for any calling!

Click here to download the handout.  Feel free to edit it as you might need!

Conference Thought Jars

Are you ready?  Drum roll please!  (Drum roll noises and then...) Ching! (That's a cymbol sound!)  Our very first guest blogger!  Well... she doesn't really blog, but she is my wonderful Aunt Diane Eld, who is also very crafty!  She sent me her idea for a visit teaching gift for this month and I just couldn't resist sharing!  (Let's face it... I'm awesome, but very much not the only one with awesome ideas!)

She says: "In trying to decide which message to give my ladies this month I decided to give them a little of each talk. Just below each title is a sentence that describes the talk. I copied and pasted it from each talk. President Monson's closing talk I used several important quotes they have a astrix (*) to help point them out. These can be a daily thought to ponder for yourself, families can use them for daily quick thought and maybe short discussion to start the day. Empty nester's or families it's a great family home evening to pick a few and discuss your thoughts."

As you can see it's pretty simple to put together!  I would recommend hot gluing your fabric lid together so that you don't have to "redo" the pretty cushy top everytime you open it.  I'm sure you could have figured that out pretty quick, but... I'm a blonde... so I know I skip silly things like that sometimes!
"It's a recyclable gift. When your finished it's a pin cushion/sewing notion bottle."
*Please note, if you are coming to this post through the "Sew Sweet" page.  It is labeled there because this is a cute pin cushion and notion container!

THANKS AUNT DIANE!

Conference Stickies

I created this as a handout for Visiting Teaching, but it really could be used for anything. I picked quotes that stood out to me, but you could easily remove them and add your own.

For Visiting Teaching and Home Teaching this month you are to read and select a talk from conference to present to the people you visit. I choose quotes from several talk for the handout. The conference talks are available on a NEW beta website created specifically for conference! YEAH!!
To print click here to download the file I created. Then print ONLY page #1. After that center some sticky notes over the squares on page #1 and place the page back into the print. Be sure that it's facing the correct way before you hit print (You might want to do a tester.) When printing on the stickies be sure to print ONLY page #2! Voile! You are done. Easy Cheesy Punkin Kneesy.

Personal Revelation Flowers

Here is my Visiting Teaching Handout for April 2010! This month it's on personal revelation. I decided to do something Spring-like! Everyone loves flowers right? So why not give some to the friends you visit teach?

First review the lesson put out by the church this month. (Click here.)

You will need this stuff for each set: 2 pencils, 2 thumb tacks, 1 piece of paper, green pipe cleaner (or ribbon)!
First you are going to need some cute paper for the petals. I used 12 x 12 that I cut to 8.5 on one side so it would fit into the printer. I didn't cut an inch off the other so that one flower would be slightly bigger! (Plus I was being lazy.) All I did for this month was type up some word strips. Which can be downloaded here or at the end of this post! Add your names to one of the petals so that you don't have to create a tag. (Or don't and then make a leave tag... rggg... why didn't I think of that sooner?) Print them onto the cute paper!
Cut the papers in "Almost" half! Ha ha... Pretty much just cut 1/2 inch in front of the 2nd column of words.
Next, cut your words strips.... duh!

You will be making 2 flowers. You can mix up the papers or make your papers match! Whatever! I was gunna make mine match, but I cut them all at the same time to save time and didn't want to have to pick through them. See how mistakes can pay off sometimes!
Anyways... Grab your thumb tack and then fold (but DON'T press flat!) each of the strips, sticking the ends of them onto the pointy part of the thumb tack!

*Note- Be sure when you are layering your "petals" that the words are facing the right way when pressing them onto the tack!

Now push the thumb tack with petals into the eraser end of your pencil and.... Presto!!!!

You have the top of your flower! I tied mine together with a green pipe cleaner to make leaves, but I like the idea of making a "Leaf" tag. ;(

Enjoy!

40 Days Through the Book of Mormon

This months Visiting Teaching message is entitled, "Strengthening Faith in God the Father and Jesus Christ through Personal Scripture Study." It made me think of a small photo book that I was given a couple years ago by our Relief Society Presidency. I searched everywhere for one, but I couldn't find anything like it to simply print off. I did find this from lds-yw.com! The file was even called "40 Days Closer to Christ." How fitting! So I decided to create my own little album for the sisters I visit teach!

Pretty much just print of the file I created. I included excerpts from the message in the Ensign. And make sure to place the Weeks messages at the right spot. I figured out there was more room in the book at the end and it was a pain in the patootie to scoot everything down. I also typed my testimony into the file, but I did remove it so your could add your own! After printing I placed each days schedule on a 4x6 piece of cardstock. (I just purchased a pack that was precut and on sale at Micheal's.) I then slipped them all into the cheapest photo books I could find!

I truely enjoy going through this little book. Even if it's just for the quote or scripture for the day, it's a good Book of Mormon study guide.

To download click here!

Ok... call me a perfectionist, but I created another file. This one has more than 1 days schedule on it. And the pages are true 4x6. Technicaly all you need to do for this one is print, cut around the edges (NOT up the middle), fold each page in half, then slip it into your photo holder! Easy cheesy and no need to search for a photo holder that will hold 60 like I did!
