Nativity Set

Decorating the house for Christmas has always been on of my favorite traditions of the season.   I remember fighting over pieces of my mom's nativity set with my sister.  Apparently we took turns putting up the baby Jesus....  seriously... how did we remember whose turn it was?    Every year we put up decorations with the kids I am reminded that yet again I forgot to purchase a set in the after Christmas sales.

When making a trip to the thrift store I spotted this!  It was only 6 bucks, but it was huge.  It needed a little work...  The baby Jesus was sitting behind his stand and poor Mary is being choked by the rope for her headdress!   I love the simplicity of the set.  Just sweet Joseph with this wife and the newborn baby.  But... we are planning on moving in a couple of months.  Military.  I would hate to just sell it or store it for a year.  But... the set reminded me of something I had back at my home!

Christmas Tree Sandwich

Here is another yummy lunch at the Herbert house!  Thought I would share and hopefully... inspire!
I did give him carrots too!  Don't want you to think I'm neglecting my child!  lol

Reindeer Cookies {School Safe}

I'm beginning to have to much fun with the challenge of creating fun treats where I can bake or touch any of the food!

Tree Wrapped Gifts

This wasn't my idea, but it was to cute to NOT post about!  Our Primary Presidency gave all the teachers thank you gifts for Christmas!  First... A little about our Primary Presidency.  I LOVE them, for several reasons, but mostly because I KNOW they have my back.  If I need help in class or need a sitter during Activity Days...  They are so sweet and have done a Fantabulous job of keeping reverence and teaching the children.  Now... about the gifts!

On My List {Part 2}

Sorry it took me so long to post {Part 2}!  I'm hoping when you read on you will see why!  This is an area WAY out of my comfort zone.  I felt the research I did could potentially help others who are as clueless in this area as I am!

So...  The big question...
"What is the other thing On My List for Christmas this year?"
Glad you asked!

Get to Know You Bingo {With STRAWBERRY Ice Cream}

Ok.. You would think that after being a Primary President NOTHING would scare you, but I admit, I was totally nervous about my first night.

When thinking of what to do, I remembered seeing this post around blog land.  I decided to do my own variation of that.  Who can't love someone who lets them eat Ice Cream!  Even if you are forced to make it yourself.  But first... the activity!

Operation Secret Service

This was only me second Activity Days, so I decided a little help from those who've been doing it was still in order!  I saw this post by Fickle Pickle on Facebook and LOVED it.  But.. I have this disease.  I felt like since I was using her idea I needed to create my own stuff for it so that I would have done some of the work...  Yeah... I'm crazy.

Countdown Blocks

Alright.. this one is more of a copy craft.  I didn't come up with the WHOLE idea here.  This one came from Fantistic Friday.  This is a night at our church where once a year a bunch of us girlies get together and put together craftiness galore.  All the items are selected and put together before hand by a group of other awesome girlies.   Usually it's a great opportunity to create gifts for family by hand and at a reasonable price.

This year one of the tables had some Christmas Countdown Blocks.  They were way cute and I totally wanted them, but....  I bought some countdown fabric at Hancock after last Christmas and made this...

Santa Sandwich!

Since my son is still on the waiting list for the preschool we want he is home... ALOT!  Poor kid.  Stuck at home with mommy and baby.  I can tell that he misses his sister while she is at school.  I have taken to creating interesting sandwiches for him to kinda spice up his middle of the day.  Aurora comes home talking about her yummy school lunches... sometimes... so I make fun sandwiches for Tyton!  I do have another post on all the funny lunches that I have made for him.  Click here for that post!

Fleece PigTail Beanie

I have been trying to think of a cool idea of a scarf for my daughter.  I have extra fleece from something else and was just waiting for inspiration to hit!  Well... When Melanie over at Sugardoodle posted this idea on Facebook I had my idea!  Yeah!  I totally just copied her idea and used a stuffed animal around the house I knew Aurora didn't snuggle with as much, but...  I thought I would do a tutorial on the hat idea I had!

Also... I'm sure there are MUCH easier ways to do this... I was just messing around and it turned out how I wanted it to in my head!
