My Daddy's Best Bulk Chicken

Welcome to
Tummy Tickled Tuesday!
Where I share something yummy to tantalize your taste buds!

Today I would like to share
My Daddy's Best Bulk Chicken!

First off I should warn you how yummy my daddy's way of cooking this is.
The perfect way to do this is DEFIANTLY on the grill, but I know most of you would prefer to cook in you oven.    But I am currently grill-less so the oven way it is!
For the oven I start with FROZEN boneless, skinless chicken breast and place them on whatever cookie sheet they will fit on!
Then I coat them with Worcestershire Sauce.
Then I sprinkle well with Lawry's.
And pop them into for 45 minutes at 350 degrees or
until there is no pink in the middle when slice through the center with a knife.
Remove the chicken to a plate and pour the drippings into a cup to be used as broth for soup or... whatever you like to save your drippings for.
When you are done you should have perfectly juicy chicken!  You can eat it just this way OR wait for it to cool and put it in a Ziploc bag for later use!  It is seasoned just enough to eat OR to be re-seasoned when added to another recipe.

Now... you are going to have to wait to find out how to cook it on the grill!  It's yummy, yummy too!

10 Crock Pot Breakfast Meals

Welcome to
It's a Pinteresting Monday!
Every monday I feature ten interesting things I found through Pinterest.
This weeks theme is
Pinteresting Crock Pot Breakfasts!

So, due to crazy military life, ALL of our household items are in storage in South Dakota whist we are "temporarily" living in Florida.  Notice the quotes!  LOL  We are dealing, but there are VERY many things that I miss from my "stuff".  My crock pot is one of them!

While my hubby was working in the fire station he had a 24 hours shift and worked every other day.  So, every other day I created some sort of One Pot Meal to tote over there with the kids so that we could visit and sit down to eat as a family.  Usually, they were crock pot meals!  Two days ago we were playing at a friends house and I was complaining to said poor friend.  She then took pity on me and said, "My husband just got me a new bigger crock pot!  You are welcome to borrow my old one!" As I thanked her happily I was doing a tiny little gig in my head.  Oh the things I can now cook!

Although... perhaps I should just by her a new one.  Now that I have been without, I am sure to use hers every stinkin day!  She might get another new crock pot in a few months!

So, in honor of the wonderful borrowed crock pot I went diligently searching for some new ideas to try.  Since we will be homeschooling this year I decided to find some super cool breakfasts!  Just imagine starting breakfast before you go to bed.  When you wake up in the morning all you have to do is serve, cool and eat!  I will update the post as I actually try these.  I am so excited!!!
Apple Oatmeal by Sugar-Free Mom
Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal by Mel's Kitchen Cafe
Steel Cut Oatmeal by My Charming Kids
This is alot like the Maple and Brown Sugar recipe above it, but no maple and less sugar.
Blueberry Pancakes with Lemon by 365 Days of Crockpot
Regular Pancakes by Crockpot365
Breakfast Risotto by Crockpot365
Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls by The Prudent Wife
This one actually takes 2.5 hours, so you can't leave it overnight.  But I would cook it at night, the hubby and I could sneak some for a midnight snack whilst the kiddos slept, then we could all eat it for breakfast!
French Toast by GetCrocked
Crock Pot Migas by Get Crocked
Served with Tortilla chips!
Yummy Casserole by Family Fresh Meals
Made with Hash Browns!

Okay... so that is actually 11, but I couldn't decided with ones to list! I even found a way to Boil Eggs with a crock pot! Check out the new Cravin' Crockpot Board on Pinterest for more.   They ALL sound so yummy I am drooling on the keyboard!

Spin-a-Kid Song Review

Welcome to
Sundae Served Saturdays
where "Saturday is a special day, it's a day we get ready for Sunday!"

In our church everyone has a "calling" to which they are assigned.  We are set these jobs based on inspiration and need.  My husband and I have both been primary teachers since we moved here.   Usually married couples teach together, but they needed teachers so we separately classes between 4-6 and 8-11 year olds.  When we heard the military was possibly moving us they decided to release one of us so that when we did move they would only need to find one new teacher instead of two.

So, the ended up releasing me.  Sad day, cause I LOVED my calls.  That and my new calling is going to be a challenging.  You see, our Primary Chorister's husband has moved away for about 6 months trying out a new job.  She stayed here with the kiddos in case it doesn't work out and... she has family here to help her out a ton.   She has a sweet new baby girl who is sometimes is difficult to hold while leading music.  My new calling is....

Drum Roll please....

Holding the Baby!  See... I told you!  Hard right. HA HA HA!  Of course, if she needs to go out to nurse the baby then I will take over and lead the music, so I suppose I am more like her assistant/substitute if her kids happen to be sick.  Which, is exactly what happened two Sunday's ago!

Our primary chorister called to tell me her little boy was sick.  She gave me a list of songs she wanted the kids to review and what verses needed the most work.
Introducing...
Spin-A-Kid Song Review!
I actually got this idea from a leadership training meeting I had a few years ago.  I have been waiting and waiting to use it!  YEAH!
I pulled out a few pieces of plain card-stock and wrote different ways to sing on them.
The idea is to place all these squares facing down on the floor in a circle around a spinning chair.
Then you pick 2 kids, a spinner and a spinee.
The spinee keeps their feet together and you pick up the square they land on!
Simple, easy fun.

The kids had so much fun!  We ended up putting them in the Primary closet for future use!
The "Big Mouth" is where you sing while opening your mouth as big as you can!
The "One Big Breath" is where you sing for as long as you can with ONE BIG BREATHE!
The rest are pretty self explanatory.

This could be a good one to have on hand for emergencies!!!

My Organized Blog Thoughts

Welcome to
"Thawed-Out" Thursday!
Where the thoughts stuck in my head come spilling out.  Don't step in it.  Might get Jessica on you!

It has been 2 years and 5 months since I started this blog.  It started by simply wanting to have my own space to catalog my ideas.  Being blonde, having be born with only 2 wisdom teeth and then giving birth to three children has taken it's toll upon my memory.  Now...  If I happened to help or inspire others along the way... that would be a totally awesome added bonus.

Somewhere along the way this blog has become my little baby.  I love to design it.  I love to think of new ideas to share on it.  I attempt to post regularly and come up with lots of different ideas.   I like to sew and write and paint and organize and design and cook and bake and play and cut and paste and dance and fix hair and... everything!  But I have this problem.

My baby seems to never grow!  While I don't expect to become a famous blogger who has tons of advertisers and blog stalkers, I would like my blog to have come a little further than it has.

So I have made a list of Blogging Goals to help me on my quest to provide a better and more interesting blog for you to read!

My first step...  Provide a simpler and more professional look so you are seeing my POSTS rather than my fancy background paper.  I THINK I have done that.  While I still chose to design the blog myself rather than go with someone professional, I think my little skills at design provided what I can afford.  FREE.  While not perfect it will do!

Second step...  Get organized.  This is a big step with several smaller steps inside.  My new plan has me blogging EVERYDAY in order to provide a constant stream of Jessica information.  In order to blog everyday I decided to make up a schedule with a different theme everyday so you know what to expect!

Sunday
In general we don't do a whole lot on Sunday besides go to church and hang with the family at the house.  It is our day to relax so my blog will too!
I figure if Chick-Fil-A can observe the sabbath and be a booming business then my blog can too!
As Vernon Dursley in the Sorcerer's Stone once said, "Right you are Harry!  No post on Sundays.  HA!

It's a Pinteresting Monday
Every Monday I will pick a theme and feature 10 interesting ideas I find via Pinterest.

Free Planner Printable - Girly Style

Welcome to
Whipped Up Wednesday!
Where I share something crafty I just whipped up.
(Or took a long time working on, but you get the idea right?)

So...  do you remember a week ago when I share my husbands love for planners and our never-ending hunt for pages to fit throughout our almost 10 years of marriage?  If you don't remember then CLICK HERE to view the post and get the downloads.
I couldn't resist and made on for myself while I was at it!  It couldn't hurt to be more organized right?  I do have an iPhone, but...  I have always been a pen to paper kind of girl.  I remember things more when I physically write them down.
So...  On to the Free Planner Printable -GIRLY STYLE!
Mine is organized the exact same way as his, but...  mine is pretty! Here are pictures of the front inside pocket and the inside cover page.
Along with the phone number, holidays, and birthday pages, this also includes the mini calenders through 2014.
Monthly Calendar Pages
Weekly Calendar Pages.
I also have cute dividers!
Instead of the investment pages like the hubby's I create a space to jot down blog ideas!
I clipped it with a gigantic clippy after print, cutting and organizing the pages.
I spiral bound them so they would lay flat or fold in half easy!
To hook the elastic I used my eyelet setter to squash the elastic into the back cover.
Turn out cute right!

Now load up the paper, make sure your ink is good, get ready to download and print!
NOTE PAGES - Print one on the flip side of the information pages.
(Keep the note download open cause... it gets printed again.)
PHONE NUMBER PAGES - Print these front and back, however many you think you might need!
DATE PAGES - Print one!
DATE PAGES 2 - Print on the flip side of Date pages 1.
MINI CALENDAR PAGES - This is one file that gets printed front and back
so watch you printer and flip the paper when necessary.
MONTHLY CALENDAR PAGES - Print one of this with the NOTE PAGES from above printed on the back.
WEEKLY PAGES - Print 6 with WEEKLY PAGES on the front and back side.  Then 6 with WEEKLY PAGES on the front and NOTE PAGES on the back.
BLOG LOG PAGES - Print front and back however many you might want!
DIVIDERS - Print however many of these you think you might need.
I printed 13 on card-stock, one for each month and another for the Investment Log.

Super Easy Pasta e Fagoli + Sausage

Welcome to the first ever
TUMMY TICKLED TUESDAY!
Where I try out a new recipe or cooking tip and share it with you!

I am the perfect Stay at Home Mommy. I make a perfect little grocery list and I always remember to bring it with me.  I prance around the grocery store happily placing tiny check marks next to each item as I lovingly toss it into my cart!  When I am done I have every ingredient I need for all of my perfectly planned meals for my perfectly organized family.  Aren't I perfect!

I suppose I would be if ANY of that were true!  Ha ha ha!  I do make a list but it seems, even then, certain things get left on the store shelves!  This past week daily swim lessons threw off my grove, but in a good way I suppose.  I planned a to have a yummy Pasta e Fagoli for my family one night.  We love Olive Garden and this is the "soup" my husband always orders as a side.  But... being cheap and never able to shell out Olive Garden cash, I found a recipe from AllRecipes.com.  Of course...  on the night set aside for Pasta e Fagoli I noticed I had somehow left out pretty much ALL of the ingredients from my list for this recipe!

But I was determined!  I was able to find ingredients to sub in my pantry that almost perfect covered the thing I was supposed to buy!
 Pasta e Fagoli + Sausage

  • 1 Jar Classico brand Spaghetti Sauce Italian Sausage Flavor (To sub for my lack of canned tomato sauce and spices.)
  • 1 Can French Onion Soup (For my lack of onions AND beef broth.  This soup is Beef Broth based.)
  • 1-2 Cups Ruffles Pasta (For my lack of ditalini pasta.)
  • 1 Can Garbanzo Beans (For my lack of cannellini beans.  I really would use cannellini beans though...)
  • 1 Package Italian ground Sausage (Not traditional, but my hubby likes MEAT so I knew he would enjoy the "beefing" up.)
Dump French onion + recommended water, the jar of spaghetti sauce and the beans into a large pot.  Cook for about 20 minutes.  Brown your sausage while waiting for that and chuck it in the pot when it's all done.
Then add you noodles and allows them to cook in the soup.  About 10-15 more minutes.  Add more water if it isn't "soupy" enough for ya!  There are enough spices in there that more water will not drown the taste!

Here it is done!  While far from the fancy recipes this turned our VERY good!  I think the only thing I would have done different was use the cannellini or at least some smaller sore of white bean.  The garbonzo's are kinda big...
I served it with some parmesean on top!  I made enough for lunch the next day, but... we all had seconds!  When all the kids want more you KNOW it's a recipe that will be repeated!

Free Planner Printable - Man Style

Ever since I have met my husband he has carried around a planner.  Through college and marriage, through moves, military and babies... everything was is in that planner!    But... it isn't always the same planner...  The planner has been misplaced a few times and even more than that, it has been a PAIN to buy the same planner pages to fit in several different states or through the almost 10 years we have been married!
So this year at Father's Day I decided to MAKE him a new planner!  Yup.  I am awesome!  Although...  this was a Father's Day Gift and I am just now posting it...  Ehh!

I am sharing all the pages with you to download!  Yeah me!
Now load up the paper (I used the heaviest weight paper I could find at Wal-Mart that wasn't card-stock.), check that you have full ink, and print away!
Oh... it does help to have a laminator, but that is NOT completely necessary.  I just love mine so I am gunna use it by darn.  So lets get started by showing you how I set mine up.
First up!  The cover!  I just used some cardstock I had and laminated it... twice so it was nice and tough.  I have seen people cut up an old spiral notebook.  That would work too!  And yes you see two there!  I ended up making one for me!  I made different planner pages though... more girly!  In a few days you could you could CLICK HERE to see the post for those pages.
After the cover I put in pockets!  I folded up a piece of 12x12 cardstock, then...
Folded the paper again so the fold was outside.
The I trimmed it to size and laminated it for stability.  (Again... not completely nessecary, but I can so I did!)
Then there is a page for personal info...  if you like to put it!
Name and number pages.  I put a couple for him cause... he seems to write them down more than just put them into his silly phone!
Lists for holidays and birthdays!  I thought about making a printable for the holidays, but...  everyone celebrates different things and I wanted to be able to use this for ANY year.  So...  after you make your planner google a list of holidays and write them here!
Next reminders and then the tiny calendars.  Of course... this will be outdated eventually , but then... just don't print this if you are finding it in the year 2078.  Duh.
Then the big calendars.  I made the number parts blank so you can fill them in.
After each month are the appropriate amount of weekly pages.  Also blank so that you can fill it in!
I printed notes on the the back of tons of stuff.  All the monthly calendars have this on the back.  And yep...  I made dividers!
My hubby keeps track of our investments on a little piece of paper in his planner.  I made them their own section!
Pocket in the back.
Oh look at those cute little tabs!
Then I used this stuff to...
...attach some elastic to the back cover so it would close!

Simple enough right?
Are you ready to download and print?  Good!
COVER (Print one on cardstock)
INVESTMENT PAGES - Print front and back however many you might want!
DIVIDERS - Print however many of these you think you might need.
I printed 13 on card-stock, one for each month and another for the Investment Log.
This is a picture of the divider file.
You will cut along the dotted line until you reach the desired rectangle that you would like to be a tab.
Cut around 3 sides of said rectangle and the either continue cutting along the dotted line OR
fold the paper on the remaining dotted line for added stability.  Then trim!

Now all you need to do is trim your pages in half and place them in the order you would like.  I got mine bound at Staples for 5 bucks!  I like that it lays flat with the spiral binding.  I wish I HAD a spiral binding machine!

Please feel free to comment with any questions and I will try to get to them.  I know that maybe it seems like a ton of work... and it is,  but it is so nifty when done!  There are a ton of other planner printables out there, but I just had to add mine to the mix!
